FAQs & Fees

How do I schedule an appointment?

Complete our contact form or call 208-753-7484. You can request a particular therapist or ask us to help you find a good fit. We offer a free 15-minute consultation and generally respond within two business days.

What happens at the first appointment?

We spend time getting to know you, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring what you hope will change. Your therapist will review your paperwork, answer questions, and discuss possible next steps. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive.

About Therapy

How do I choose a therapist?

Consider their experience, approach, and how comfortable you feel talking with them. Our provider profiles offer a starting point, and a consultation gives you room to ask questions. If the fit doesn’t feel right, please tell us and we can help you explore other options.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Standard individual sessions last 53–60 minutes. Many clients begin with weekly appointments. You and your therapist will discuss frequency, review progress, and adjust the plan together. The overall length of therapy depends on your needs and goals.

How does therapy end? Can I return later?

Our goal is to help you find a therapist with whom you feel trust and mutual respect. If the relationship no longer feels like a good fit, you may discontinue at any time. You are welcome to discuss your concerns or ask for help finding another provider.

Ideally, therapy ends when you have met your goals—whether through processing trauma, practicing new skills, or making meaningful changes in your life. You and your therapist can review your progress and plan for ending or pausing sessions.

Therapy doesn’t have to be one continuous process. You may finish one period of work and return when new needs arise, as appointment space allows.

Do I have to describe every detail of a traumatic experience?

No. You and your therapist will discuss what is helpful to share and work at a manageable pace. You can ask questions, pause, or decline an intervention.

What are EMDR intensives?

Intensives use longer appointments to allow focused therapeutic work beyond a standard weekly session. Assessment and preparation help determine whether this format fits your needs. Your therapist will explain the recommended structure before you decide.

Do you offer telehealth or outdoor therapy?

We offer in-person appointments in Boise and telehealth for clients located in Idaho. Outdoor therapy, including walk-and-talk and Therapeutic Fly Fishing (TF-EMDR®) sessions, is available with select providers when appropriate. Ask about availability, fees, and insurance coverage for the service you’re considering.

Individual therapy, 45 minutes $165
Individual therapy, 30 minutes $125
Couples or family therapy, standard session $245

These are our standard fees. If you use insurance, your cost depends on your plan and your therapist’s network participation.

Can I pay without insurance?

Yes. You may pay directly using the fees listed above. Payment is due at the time of service unless another arrangement has been agreed upon.

We accept major credit cards, cash, checks, and eligible HSA/FSA payments.

What do EMDR intensives cost?

Pricing is individualized. After assessment and initial preparation work, we recommend a plan based on your needs, goals, and the length of the intensive. We review the proposed cost with you before scheduling.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance participation varies by therapist. Please check individual provider profiles or contact us to confirm whether your therapist accepts your specific plan.

Your deductible, copayment, and coinsurance determine your share of covered services. We encourage you to confirm your outpatient mental health benefits with your insurer before beginning.

Can I use out-of-network benefits?

Receipts or superbills are available upon request. Ask your insurer whether your plan reimburses services from an out-of-network therapist and what documentation it requires. Reimbursement is determined by your plan.

Are reduced-fee appointments available?

A limited number may be available, depending on the therapist. Please ask about availability when you contact us.

Can I receive an estimate?

Yes. If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, we provide a written Good Faith Estimate of expected treatment charges.
