Jill Stewart, LCPC

One of the things I appreciate most about Jill is her steady presence. I first experienced it when we worked together as school counselors at one of the largest high schools in Idaho. In moments of chaos, while others were reacting, Jill had a remarkable ability to bring calm, clear thinking and help people find the best path forward. I’ve had the privilege of working with her in multiple settings since, and that steady, compassionate presence has remained constant.

Jill works with teens and adults and has extensive experience supporting military spouses, caregivers, and individuals navigating anxiety, grief, major life transitions, and questions of identity, purpose, or faith. She also understands the unique challenges of religious trauma, creating a space where clients can explore these experiences without judgment.

Jill has a gift for helping people slow down, feel truly heard, and reconnect with their own strengths. She is trained in EMDR and thoughtfully integrates mindfulness, existential therapy, and other evidence-based approaches, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs.

After Jill retired from the schools and her own private practice, I continued to rely on her out for consultation, so I was genuinely delighted when she asked to join the team at Boise River Counseling. She currently sees clients in person on Wednesdays and offers telehealth appointments throughout the week. Jill also provides a limited number of reduced-fee appointments for those who are underinsured or paying out of pocket.
